On behalf of our faculty, staff and students, I would like to welcome you to Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at UCF.

The ECE's vision is to offer the best undergraduate education in electrical and computer engineering, to achieve national and international prominence in selected areas of graduate study and research, and to foster partnerships and contribute to technological and economical advances in the State of Florida, the nation, and the world.

Our undergraduate curricula lead to the degree of Bachelor of Science in either Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, and they are designed to provide students with a solid background in mathematics, physical sciences, electrical and computer engineering. A wide range of program options are available including communications, control systems, signal processing, computer architecture and reconfigurable hardware, electromagnetics and optics, and semiconductor devices and applications.

ECE is the home of FEEDER Center, one of national-network centers funded by US Department of Energy under the GEARED program. Also affiliated with ECE are the Electric Vehicle Transportation Center, a Tier-1 University Transportation Center funded by US Department of Transportation and the Multi-functional Integrated System Technology (MIST) center, an Industry/University Collaborative Research Center (I/UCRC) funded by National Science Foundation. ECE research is categorized into the following four focus groups, each of which consists of several areas: Computer Systems and VLSI, Cyber-Physical Systems (Communication, Controls, Signal Processing, and Energy Systems), Micro- and Nano-Systems, and Electromagnetics. Our faculty members have developed collaborative partnerships with governmental agencies and industry, including local companies such as Lockheed Martin, Harris Corporation, Leidos, SAIC, L-3 Communications, etc. ECE annual report details our research expenditure and new research funding (majority of which are from federal agencies NSF, NASA, DoE, DoT, DARPA, PEO, STRI).

The most vital resource we have to offer is that our faculty members are dedicated educators as well as technical leaders in their fields of expertise and that our students are remarkably talented and driven.
