Our work on the evolution of peering relationships as content Internet service providers (ISPs) are dominating the market got accepted to IEEE Networking Letters. We anticipate that content ISPs will continue to integrate with transit and access ISPs, forming a market of vertical ISPs. We then conjecture what would happen to peering relationships among these vertically integrated “sugarcane” ISPs.
