Professor Dey recently joined the UCF Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Central Florida (UCF) as an Assistant Professor. He is now looking for highly motivated PhD students to join our research group starting in Spring/Fall 2026.These fully funded positions offer the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research in high-performance power electronics for space power systems, transportation electrification, and renewable grid integration, with potential focus areas including: Miniaturized circuit topology and modulation optimization for WBG-based isolated power converter systems,Al applications in power electronics control, parameter estimation, and health monitoring,EMI/EMC modeling and filtering techniques.
What we are looking for in applicants:
- Curiosity and courage to uncover unknowns, backed by strong self-motivation and technical foundation
- MS (preferred) or BS in EE/ECE with solid knowledge in power electronics, control systems, and Al/ML techniques
- Strong academic record (GPA, GRE Quantitative >165, TOEFL)
- Hands-on experience in building and testing electronic hardware
- Familiarity with MATLAB/Python, Simulink, PLECS, ANSYS schematic/PCB design tools, microcontroller coding
- Research publications in relevant fields is a plus
