Award Description
This scholarship is funded by UCF Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering with the goal of increasing enrollment in our graduate programs. The ideal applicant for this scholarship is a senior undergraduate student who commits to pursuing graduate studies at UCF. Specific duties and expected outcomes will be outlined by the ECE faculty member with whom the student will be working.
Recipients of this scholarship will receive $15,000 for one year as an hourly hire.
Eligibility
- Declared undergraduate Electrical or Computer Engineering major with an interest in pursuing graduate studies at UCF.
- Cumulative UCF GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Senior standing in major (less than four semesters remaining in their undergraduate careers).
- Enrolled at UCF for the Fall semester and enrolled the subsequent Spring semester to maintain scholarship eligibility.
Please note that applicant eligibility will be verified by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering before any award can be made.
Application Requirements
Applicants must provide:

A personal statement that includes:
- Commitment to UCF: Articulate why UCF is the applicant’s preferred choice for graduate studies, highlighting relevant course interests, intentions to stay in the Orlando area, and faculty members of interest related to the applicant’s field of specialization.
- Academic Plan: Provide an outline of the intended academic journey throughout the program, including planned courses, research activities, and any aspirations for teaching or research assistantships.
- Career Goals: Concisely describe post-graduation career ambitions and explain how a UCF education will contribute to achieving these objectives.
- One letter of recommendation from the ECE faculty member with whom the applicant plans to work.
Interested students are encouraged to submit all required documents as one PDF file to ecescholarships@ucf.edu with “ECE Conduct Graduate Studies Scholarship Application” in the subject line. Applications for Fall 2024 must be submitted by 5:00 PM ET on September 20, 2024.
Evaluation Process
Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Incomplete and non-qualifying applications will not be considered. All applicants will be notified via email if they are awarded a scholarship or not.

Additional Scholarship Opportunities
The College of Engineering and Computer Science offers various scholarships to support undergraduate and graduate students. CECS students are encouraged to apply for scholarships using A2O: Access to Opportunities, a system that gives you access to scholarships funded by donors specifically for students studying areas related to your major. Using this site, you can also gain access to hundreds of scholarships open to all majors across campus and external scholarships that have been validated by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. You will need to complete A2O’s application once a year to automatically match with scholarships for which you qualify. Be sure to check the system periodically as scholarships may be added throughout the year.
