The visually impaired community is limited to very few means of independent navigation throughout their day to day lives. The SenseWalk console is a means to improve independent navigation by acting as a simple console to strap onto a white cane, an aid frequently used by such individuals. The SenseWalk console hopes to improve this tool by implementing sonar and GPS technology to better guide the user by alerting them of upcoming obstructions in their path in addition to providing audio instructions as they go about a given route.
