CyberChess is an autonomous, voice-controlled chess board designed to allow two players to enjoy an aesthetically appealing game of chess entirely through spoken commands. Each player uses a wired microphone to issue these commands, allowing them to have the system set up a game, execute moves, and display possible moves for any piece on the board. CyberChess makes use of a magnetic xy-plotter to physically move the pieces as needed. An array of LEDs provides visual notifications to the players throughout the game, supplemented by audio to communicate ideas directly to the user.
