Persistence of Vision: The ability of the human eye to retain an image for fractions of a second after the image is presented to it is known as Persistence of Vision. While the exact causes of it are still disputed among researchers, this apparent phenomenon has motivated and inspired the engineering of many creative technologies. Particularly, many devices utilize rapidly moving lights to create the illusion of solid lines and shapes that can be used to form a clear image in the eyes of the viewer.
