Autonomous Nerf-Enabled Battlebot

Sponsored by Lockheed Martin, an autonomous battlebot that uses range detection and computer vision algorithms, including facial and motion detection, to fire at enemy targets using Nerf blasters.

Our completed design features two sensor modalities, four DC motors equipped with encoders, two motor drivers, a custom printed circuit board, two NERF Blasters, two gun triggering circuits, and two batteries. Two of the DC motors are used for manual navigation of the system while the other two are used for the pan and tilt of the turret system. The turret system can be controlled either autonomously or manually by the user.

This project was created by Daniel Agudelo, Rachel Gremillion, Aaron Hoyt, and Rafael Ramirez beginning in Fall 2016 and ending in Spring 2017.
