Infrared Vibration Sensitive LED Drum & Metronome

L.U.D.S - Light-Up Drum System

Group 10

Description

This project aims to provide a cheaper solution for stage lighting effects for musicians and improve the stage presence of drummers. This device has an array of LEDs and IR sensors that will be fitted in the drum. The infrared sensors detect vibrations when the drum is struck, sending a signal to the microcontroller which will cause the LEDs to flash. The user can alter how the and when the LEDs flash and their preferences are shown on an LCD display. It is different than others option because it has more features while being cost-effective making it usable by even independent musicians. There will be multiple settings to customize the appearance of the drums during a performance, a metronome mode for practice, and transferable replay data.
