Ruby Crystallography Machine

Project Description

A ruby characterization system will be designed and implemented, where we will test the fluorescence spectra of the crystal as well as determine its structure. This will be done via a spectrometer and dichrometer. An enclosed system with a rotating stage will allow us to take measurements from the crystal at three different angles. After analyzing this data, we will be able to conclude with great confidence whether the ruby is real, natural or synthetic, and if it's crystalline.
