Open Sense is an alternative probeware system developed in collaboration with our sponsor, Design of Resilient Architectures for Computing (DRACO) lab. It is designed to address the affordability and accessibility challenges associated with traditional probeware systems. The sensor platform is a printed circuit board (PCB) that is designed to connect to multiple sensors and is interfaced by a web application that allows students to observe data.
The DRACO Lab is a research lab that is part of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of UCF. It was founded and is lead by Dr. Mike Borowczak. Multiple projects are currently underway that explore and focus on the integration of Artificial Intelligence with other fields such as cybersecurity and semiconductor design. The Open Sense Sensor Project is one of the more applied projects that are hosted and sponsored by the lab for Senior Design.
