PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project aims to make advanced safety features more accessible, as the high cost of the new vehicles with these technologies keeps them out of reach for many drivers especialy drivers new to the road. Our goal is to design a retrofit system that enhances older vehicles with features like obstacle detection, lane keeping assistance, and bumper to bumper distance monitoring. By providing both visual and audible alerts, the system helps drivers respond quickly and knowledgeably to road hazards. We hope to devise a system for everyday drivers to improve their safety even if they can afford a new car. Ultimately, we aim to reduce traffic accidents and fatalities, making roads safer for everyone.
