Sponsored by Lockheed Martin

UCF Seal

Project Description

For search and rescue operations, drones have come to be a solution for scouting the scenes and searching before sending in the team to perform the rescue operations. Face with the challenging tasks of developing a base station controller and a drone package will communicate with the base station controller, SPARROW aims to develop solutions to this challenge. SPARROW will incorporate both a base station and a drone package where the system will utilize AI to help with image recognition and detect humans in need of help. The system features an intuitive interface with return to base functions for the drone for recharging or safety. This integrated appraoch enhances search and rescue operations by providing real-time video feeds and actionable insights, allowing the companies performing the search and rescue operations to operate more effectively and safely.
