Project Description

In environments where internet access is unavailable or insecure, there's an increasing demand for portable systems that can securely capture, process, and transmit voice communication in real time. K-Nightwing AI Transcribe is a fully offline, real-time speech translation device built to meet that need. Designed to capture radio frequency (RF) signals, transcribe speech, translate foreign-language audio, and deliver results directly to a mobile device — all without relying on Wi-Fi, cloud services, or cellular data — the system functions entirely in the field.

At the heart of the system is a Software-Defined Radio (SDR), which captures RF transmissions such as walkie-talkie conversations. These signals are processed by a Jetson Orin Nano, running an optimized AI transcription model capable of handling multilingual input. Once the audio is transcribed and translated, the Jetson sends the data in real time over UART to an ESP32, which forwards the final JSON-formatted output to a mobile device via Bluetooth.

The system includes a custom-designed PCB with onboard power monitoring, current sensors, and a built-in LCD screen for device control and live status updates. Users can view Bluetooth connection status, monitor battery percentage and power usage, and send commands such as START or STOP to the Jetson. The accompanying Android app displays live transcription output and is fully functional offline. Whether used for translation, transcription, or keyword detection, K-Nightwing AI Transcribe offers a robust solution for field-based communication monitoring.
