Solar Tracker Power Generator:
Design methodology for a portable solar-tracking power generator
that implements maximum power point tracking, designed to
charge a battery on a continuous basis throughout its
operation cycle and maintain a load through an AC output of
120 Volts.

Facilitated by a DC/AC Inverter unit of the group’s
own design. The main hub for this device will be the
microcontroller, programmed to run the photoresistors for
the solar-tracking functionality, the visual output, and the
motor controller. The visual output LCD unit will use the
Arduino LiquidCrystal library, which will easily enable for
monitoring battery charge levels, Photovoltaic panel status,
and temperature readings of different components.

Measurement of voltage readings on the 12 Volt lead acid
battery being employed and other such functions will be
generated through implementation of the Arduino Atmega328
chip, which will also operate the motor controller unit
through input from the photoresistor, in order to keep the
panel facing the light source feeding it, and therefore
maximize available usable solar radiation for the unit’s power
generation capabilities.
