What is Knight Bright?

Knight Bright is an interactive 10x10 LED table top game and display board.  The board consists of 100 small circuit with an IR phototransistor, IR collector, LED and an and gate.  These circuits are condensed into 4 5x5 panels on the backside and further condensed onto the PCB with a single return line.  The decoder addressing scheme implemented alowed for 100 return lines to be brought down to 6 by also adding row and column lines that were all tied together.  One microcontroller is dedicated sensing these lines.  Another microcontroller is dedicated to telling the LED drivers what colors to display.  The 3rd microcontroller is the primary controller that links everything together.  The PCB contains three microcontrollers, 4 decoders and twenty LED drivers (5 RGB LEDs per driver).  The board also has Bluetooth integration with a mobile application capable of being used as a peripheral controller of the device.  The SD card was an easy way to expand memory for more games on at one time.
