What is HTS?

In a nutshell, the HTS is a technologically sophisticated "smart" motorcycle helmet that equips riders with a couple of nifty features not available in conventional helmets. At a cursory glance, the helmet is capable of: wireless synchronization with the user's mobile device via Bluetooth module (RN-52), Music streaming as well as voice calls all aided with user control buttons. The helmet is able to detect an accident and properly report the incident with precise latitude and longitude coordinates via SMS with the help of a triple axis accelerometer (ADXL345), a GSM module (SM5100b) and a GPS (LS20031). All of which are fed through a high density 3.7 V Li-ion battery that comes integrated with a dedicated charging IC system (MAX1555) for easy every day use and docking.

Andrés F. Suárez is currently a senior at the University of Central Florida. He plans to graduate with his Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering in August of 2013. He plans to pursue a working career in electrical engineering after he graduates; and after getting a few years of experience on the field will go back to get his Master degree on Electrical Engineering or Business Administration.
Brian Maldonado is currently a senior at the University of Central Florida. He plans to graduate with his Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering on August 2013. He plans to pursue a career utilizing his knowledge of electronics and control systems. He wants to gain the experience to further specialize his knowledge .
Rigel Jimenez will be graduating BSEE summer 2013. His interests include Communications, Electromagnetic Field Theory and A/D Signals Processing. He plans to pursue a graduate degree in the future after a few years of experience in an Electrical Engineering position.
