Project Description

The Fast Acquisition Real Time Tracking Drone is a proof of concept autonomous robot that is designed to demonstrate a broad range of applications that can be used for Department of Defense, law enforcement, or private/commercial sector. The drone is capable of autonomous detecting and tracking of specified objects contained inside a library. The drone is operated and controlled inside a wireless network range; however, future upgrades may allow the drone unrestricted mobility through GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) technology. Our team of engineers have designed a low-cost, light weight, completely mobile autonomous drone that is capable of seeking out specified colored objects; once found, the user is given control authority of an onboard high-powered laser that will vaporize the target of interest. p>

About

Ryan Castillo, Electrical Engineer

Ryan Castillo is a senior at the University of Central Florida and will be graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering in Aug 2017. Ryan is currently a Design Engineer Intern at Orbital ATK, where he helps lead qualification testing efforts of critical flight interconnect cables for NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) Program. A 10 year military veteran who served in the United States Air Force with exceptional knowledge in aviation and aerospace industry. Ryan obtained two Associate of Science degrees in Aviation Maintenance Technology and Aviation Operations under the Community College of the Air Force, and another Associate of Arts degree with Honors at Hillsborough Community College. He plans on pursuing his Masters degree immediately after while continuing his electrical design work in the field.

Houman Pousti, Electrical Engineer

Houman Pousti is a senior at the University of Central Florida and will be graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering in Aug 2017. Houman's academic excellence and in-depth understanding of electrical and mathematical principles has made him an invaluable assest to the design team and student body. Houman has tutored students in high level mathematics and engineering courses such as Differential Equations, Circuit Analysis, Digital Signal Processing and so on. Houman will be graduating Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida and has maintained a 4.0 GPA in his engineering courses . During his undergraduate career, Houman interned with Lockheed Martin where he helped develop image processing algorithms using MatLab software. Houman Pousti has been accepted into UCF's Master's Program, where he will gain expert knowledge in the field of RF signals.

Seth Rhodes, Electrical Engineer

Seth Rhodes is a senior at the University of Central Florida and will be graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering in Aug 2017. Seth embodies the characterestics of a true and desireable engineer. Seth is an expert in practical applications of electrical engineering and design. Seth built his first tesla coil from the ground level up during his sophomore year in college, where he receieved high accolades from the physics department, and was selected to present his project to aspiring, young engineers. Seth currently works as an employee at nScrypt Inc. in charge of Engineering Production where he designs electrical circuits and PCB's for developmental work for large contractors such as top universities, governement entities, etc. Seth also is well versed in 3D printing and design, his expert workmanship can be seen throughout the senior design project.
