Autonomous Irrigation Vehicle

Documents

Project Description

Due to inconsistent and inefficient irrigation systems and their invasiveness, we have a designed an autonomous irrigation vehicle which will monitor irrigation. The autonomous irrigation vehicle aims to remove the human factor in homeowner lawn irrigation. Homeowners and Home Owner Associations can utilize the AIV to automate irrigation of a house’s or condominiums’ lawn. The AIV performs its duties by utilizing sensors to monitor soil moisture and location.

When the soil reaches a certain level of dryness, the AIV travels to the location to dispense water. An appealing aspect of the AIV is its autonomous operation of irrigation. On top of a more accurate watering system, the AIV will save the owner money on water usage as well as lawn care products. Although the AIV’s primary directive is to irrigate landscape, it can also be employed to perform other tasks such as distinguishing fires and home & commercial farms.
