On board breaker racking interface

Project Description:

The "Switchgear Onboard Breaker Racking (OBR) Interface" was created as a solution to potential dangers and safety hazards posed during switchgear usage and operations. The OBR was implemented using a handheld device that sends and receives input for racking operations from the user through to and from the switchgear on a LCD. They are sent while maintaining a safe distance between the switchgear and the switchgear operator. From the operator's perspective, he or she may view the current status of the switchgear and select racking operations through buttons on the LCD screen. Alongside current statuses, the operator is provided with pop-up messages reporting errors encountered during racking processes.
