Project Description

TEXRAY aims to develop a low powered, cost-effective Raman Spectroscopy system for textile type identification and product authentication. The system will be able to differentiate between cotton, Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and silk. Additionally, it will feature a textile sample comparison function, enabling clothing product authentication. Using Raman spectroscopy, signal processing, and spectral data analysis, TEXRAY optimizes pre-existing benchtop Raman Spectroscopy models, making accurate textile authentication more economically accessible. Future advancements will include expanding detection capabilities to a wider range of textiles and identifying material ratios.
