The goal of this project is to develop a system that will allow users to take a more active role in reducing their monthly power consumption. The project monitors power use for the whole house as well as specially developed outlets, and converts this information into a monetary cost that is shown on a website and allows the user to track their monthly power bill in real time, helping the user to be more conscious of their power consumption so that they could adjust accordingly. A secondary feature of the project is allowing control of lights, outlets and even door locks from the website. This allows the user to be even more in control of their home power user.
