The Can Crusher

Our senior design project is to build an operable automatic Can Crusher enclosed with in a cabinet.  The Can Crusher would allow for a person to simply place the either a water bottle or aluminum can inside the machine and the Can Crusher would crush the can or bottle and dispose of the can into a storage department.

The Can Crusher will be able to

• Detect and sort aluminum cans from plastic bottles
• Will use two sensors to activate the Can Crusher once a can is placed inside
• Notify the User that the storage bin is full
• Have LEDs display using green , yellow and red lights. Green means operational and Red means trash is full and Yellow indicating a standby mode
• Have a storage bin with easy access to empty
