Pet Pal: A Smart Pet Collar Project

Group 18

Project Description

Pet Pal is a smart pet collar project communicating with an android companion application through Bluetooth. The Pet Pal Companion app has multiple pages for interfacing with the physical pet collar. The health page is responsible for displaying pet vitality data received from the collar, such as heart rate and temperature readings. The location page is used to assist the user in keeping a watchful eye on their pet’s whereabouts. Using GPS data, the location page will display the coordinates off the collar upon the user’s request. This data can then be pasted into Google Maps to display where the collar, and hence the pet, is in relation to the user. Also found on the location page is a button that will output a speaker tone from the collar itself, assisting the user in finding the exact location of their pet when GPS coordinates aren’t enough.
