Project Desciption and Block Diagram

Our project is a bomb-detecting device that uses honeybees to detect explosives or other illegal subtances. Our prototype uses machine learning and imaging systems to observe the bees. Bees have advanced scent-based capabilities highly similar to that of dogs and they can be trained to detect various chemicals, like explosive materials. Unlike dogs, bees can be trained in hours; where as dogs may take months. On the other hand, the usage of bees is limited to mere days before they are released back into the wild. This makes using bees a cheap, and temporary option for detection.
