The Laser Harp is an innovative musical instrument that replaces traditional strings with precisely aligned laser beams. When a player interrupts a beam with their hand, a corresponding musical note is generated, simulating the act of plucking a string. This system seamlessly integrates photonics, embedded systems, and motor control technologies to create an experience that is both visually captivating and musically expressive.
Developed through interdisciplinary collaboration among electrical, computer, and photonics engineers, the project demonstrates the fusion of art and engineering. Real-time adjustments for volume, octave, and tone allow for enhanced playability and dynamic performance, establishing the Laser Harp as a forward-looking instrument that embodies the harmony between technology and creativity.
