Reza Abdolvand is a distinguished professor of electrical engineering at the University of Central Florida . He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2008. With over a decade of academic and research experience, Abdolvand is recognized for his contributions to the fields of Micro- and Nano-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS/NEMS), resonant sensors and micro-fabrication.

His research interests focus on developing advanced technologies such as micro-resonators for timing and data processing, ultrasonic techniques for bio-fluid analysis and infrared sensing. Abdolvand’s work has significant applications in telecommunications, bioengineering, and sensor technology, with a particular emphasis on miniaturization and high precision.
