Industry Exposure
The UCF Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers an intensive, two-week workshop called Semiconductor Manufacturing and Advancements in Recent Technologies (SMART).
SMART, which is sponsored by Intel, is hosted during the summer semester and allows students and professionals to develop skills in semiconductor manufacturing technologies. Participants can engage in hands-on activities in the engineering cleanroom and other laboratories at UCF.
Interactive Experience
The SMART workshop blends lectures, hands-on demonstrations and laboratory sessions and distills them into four separate modules. Participants will learn about the history of semiconductor electronics, the materials used to create them and how they are fabricated. At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to develop their own semiconductor device using cleanroom equipment.
This workshop is intended for both students and industry professionals who are interested in the semiconductor manufacturing process. You do not need to be a UCF student to enroll in this workshop.
