Award Description
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking applicants for Northrop Grumman (NG) Undergraduate Scholar Program starting in the fall. These research stipends are made possible by the generous financial support from NG, with the objective of promoting research and education in the general areas of Digital Design and VLSI. The applicants are expected to have a desire in a career at NG after graduation and will be given an opportunity to do an internship with NG over the Summer semester. The NG Undergraduate Research Scholars will be paired with research active faculty in the department and will have an opportunity to interact with the NG engineers and managers to prepare themselves for a career at the company. If you have any research or work experience in this general area, please make sure to highlight that in your application package.

NG Undergraduate Scholars will be paid $20/hour for up to 20 hours/week (during the fall and spring semesters) to work in a research or teaching lab in ECE.
Eligibility
- Declared undergraduate Electrical or Computer Engineering major with an interest to engage in research activities.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours.
- Enrolled at UCF for the upcoming Fall semester and enrolled the subsequent Spring semester to maintain fellowship eligibility.
- Available to work 20 hours per week.
- U.S. citizenship
Please note that applicant eligibility will be verified by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering before any award can be made.
Application Requirements
Applicants must provide:
- Current Resume
- A short essay describing your career goals. The essay should be 300 to 500 words and should also include any academic and non-academic accomplishments, personal characteristics, or experiences that make them uniquely worthy of this scholarship consideration.
Interested students are encouraged to submit all required documents as one PDF file to ecescholarships@ucf.edu with “Northrop Grumman Scholars Application” in the subject line. Applications for Fall 2024 must be submitted by 5:00 PM ET on July 26, 2024.
Evaluation Process
Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Incomplete and non-qualifying applications will not be considered. All applicants will be notified via email if they are awarded a scholarship or not.

Additional Scholarship Opportunities
The College of Engineering and Computer Science offers various scholarships to support undergraduate and graduate students. CECS students are encouraged to apply for scholarships using A2O: Access to Opportunities, a system that gives you access to scholarships funded by donors specifically for students studying areas related to your major. Using this site, you can also gain access to hundreds of scholarships open to all majors across campus and external scholarships that have been validated by the Office of Student Financial Assistance. You will need to complete A2O’s application once a year to automatically match with scholarships for which you qualify. Be sure to check the system periodically as scholarships may be added throughout the year.
